Lessons Around Christmas🎄✨

Merry Christmas my loves!!!!🥳❤️

Missed me (yet)?👀

I owe you an explanation for the silence all these while (I’m saving that for later). For today let’s talk Christmas.🎄❤️✨

Today is a very important day to us Christians and the world at large for so many reasons but mostly because we commemorate the beginning of the enactment of the plan of salvation through the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ!!!!

I have talked on how to properly celebrate Christmas on this blog, so I’m not going to do that again. Instead, I’ll be taking a cue from Bible study on Wednesday and talk about the lessons surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. Starting right from the time of prophesy till his actual birth in a manger in Bethlehem.

Lessons from Christmas

Jesus was promised for over 400 years😱: We should count ourselves fortunate to be alive to live in the reality of God’s promise of a savior delivered. Many great men like Moses, Elijah, Isaiah and Micah (who both prophesied about Christ’s birth) who sought after God’s heart didn’t live to see the promise fulfilled. Despite that fact, they didn’t waver in their trust in God, instead they passed on their faith from generations to generations.

Points to note from this:

  • God can be trusted
  • God keeps his promises.
  • God definitely does not operate is calendar based on man’s agenda

If it’s from God, it will be done. That’s the summary of everything said above.

Here are the prophesy about Jesus’s birth

Isaiah’s prophesy:

“A child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler. He will be called, “Wonderful Counselor,” “Mighty God,” “Eternal Father,” “Prince of Peace.” His royal power will continue to grow; his kingdom will always be at peace. He will rule as King David's successor, basing his power on right and justice, from now until the end of time. The Lord Almighty is determined to do all this.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭

Micah’s Prophesy

“The Lord says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.””
“So the Lord will abandon his people to their enemies until the woman who is to give birth has her son. Then those Israelites who are in exile will be reunited with their own people. When he comes, he will rule his people with the strength that comes from the Lord and with the majesty of the Lord God himself. His people will live in safety because people all over the earth will acknowledge his greatness,”
      ‭‭Micah‬ ‭5‬:‭2-‭4‬ ‭GNT‬

Jesus was born in a manger🥹: Jesus Christ the king of kings, prince of peace, lord of lords and master of the universe was born in a manger. Because the inn was filled to capacity, I would like to imagine they shared the manger with a couple animals. His bed probably made from hay.

As master of the universe and alpha and omega he could have orchestrated the development of the most fitting and comfortable and luxurious technology to welcome him in his human form as a baby. Or he could have even chosen to be born into a royal family instead of Joseph the carpenter or someone extremely wealthy😂❤️.

But no, he chose this and allowed this circumstances surrounding his birth and was born in a manger into one of the most ordinary families!!!!

      Lessons/Points to note from this:

      • Remove your shoulder pads, learn and practice some humility. “No matter how great you think you are or people know you as, you cannot be greater than the King of Kings, the master of the universe!
      • Don’t allow your humble/rough foundation to relegate you, don’t allow it to bring inferiority complex. Who would have thought the boy born in a manger would be the savior of all mankind. If they knew, they would have created space for him and not sent him to be born in a manger.

      Jesus Birth

“She gave birth to her first son, wrapped him in cloths and laid him in a manger—there was no room for them to stay in the inn.”

      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭GNT

Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit:

Scientists are probably debating the nature of his birth. How can a woman get pregnant without any sexual intercourse especially when she didn’t even employ the use of IVF. The conception of Jesus negates everything logic and science has considered fact in terms of conception.

      Lessons from this:

      • There’s nothing God cannot do.
      • God does things in wondrous ways. Trust him

Do not limit God to the extent of your imagination or understanding

“While he was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife. For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived.”

      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Herod tried to kill Jesus: If God be for you, who can be against you, absolutely no one!!!

      Lessons from this:

      - God knows how to keep his people.

      -Trust his protection

      Herod tried to kill Jesus

“Then they returned to their country by another road, since God had warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod. After they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph and said, “Herod will be looking for the child in order to kill him. So get up, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you to leave.”
When Herod realized that the visitors from the East had tricked him, he was furious. He gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its neighborhood who were two years old and younger—this was done in accordance with what he had learned from the visitors about the time when the star had appeared.”

      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭13‬, ‭16‬ ‭GNT‬‬

You can tell by now Bible study was beautiful and enlightening . It really was!!

There are many other lessons around the birth of Christmas, I’ve just mentioned a few to stir us up. Feel free to share any other lessons❤️.

      My Friend

My friend  A guardian of my interests In clarity and  uncertainty. A light in the darkness Situations may cast. A shelter in times of hurt Even when the wounds are invisible. A companion with whom I share belly laughs A confidant who has witnessed my tears As they cascade down my face. A soul who comprehends my silence As deeply as my words. A person with whom I can be completely and securely myself. My Friend  One I can trust to tell me the truth   And set me straight  The one who prays with and for me  The one who loves me  And reminds me of what’s truly important in life. My friend Without you Life with all its joy  Will feel incomplete  Life with little sadness  Will be utterly devastating My friend  You're a spice as well as an essence of life. Ifedolapo

Imposter's Syndrome: Stop feeling like a Fraud!

I started my blog officially on blogpost about a year ago but kept it to myself for so long because of what I later discovered to have suffered from “the imposter’s syndrome”. I mean, who knew there was a term to describe my feelings of inadequacy to be myself, to start a blog, to be the lead singer for a performance or even to state my opinion in a public gathering? I didn’t know! Maybe if I did I could have snapped myself out of it and my blog will be at least a bit popular by now and maybe an artiste could have signed me up by now (two years of professional singing no   be beans na)  lol. I am in no way saying I don’t experience   it from time to time now because sincerely I do and the funny thing about it is that, it finds a way to resurface when a big opportunity presents itself. This ordinarily should be a giant red warning flag but most of the time, my attention is focused on that inadequacy, that tiny inadequacy and beating myself up to bits mentally because of ...

      FROM SCRATCH

In almost a whisper  Out of desperation  She uttered “Please come by the apartment tonight” "I’ll wait by the window to let you in" He looked straight into her eyes Said nothing in affirmative  And walked away With part of her heart in his pocket. The rest of the day went by in a blur  Like the light of the sun that gives sight has been snuffed out of day and  given to the night. As the night was the only thing she could see  And Look forward to.  Night came  So did her anxiety  With full force.  Paces back and forth  Hour after hour  Time was ticking but not fast enough  Sighs upon sighs  She seats on the window pane  And he’s still not in view Her night as dark as ever. Finally she settles on the  White two seater couch  And rests her head on its arms  As her body was catching up  With the tiredness her heart felt. “It’s raining there’s no way He would ride all the way  On his bicycle t...
